Mixing

Mixing is a basic operation in process engineering, wherein the components of at least two raw materials existing separately from each other are being repositioned through relative movement in such a way that a new arrangement diagram is created. This is called mixture. Primary goal is to achieve a required homogeneity of the new mixture.

Focusing on economical aspects and process engineering, the mixing time, the degree of dispersion and the energy used for the mixing process play an important role. These are, for instance, depending on the product characteristics, such as density or bulk density and viscosity.

Examples of Mixing Conditions

We distinguish six different mixing conditions.

A: Complete separation of single components

B: Ideal mix (not achievable in reality)

C - E: Real mixing conditions

F: Real, homogeneous mix

We use a Ploughshare® Mixer and a Laboratory Mixer. According to your requirement we can also implement the Mixing process inert.
